Everyone age 12 and older in Blanco County is eligible to receive the Monovalent Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for their first and second dose of the primary series.

This ‘mass-vaccination’ site is the result of a collaborative effort between Blanco County, Blanco County ESD 1/North Blanco County EMS, Blanco County ESD 2, Blanco County Fire/EMS Auxiliary as well as countless medical professionals who are graciously volunteering their time to get Blanco County vaccinated!

Booster Update (10/31/2022):

The updated (bivalent) boosters are called “bivalent” because they protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5.

Previous boosters are called “monovalent” because they were designed to protect against the original virus that causes COVID-19. They also provide some protection against Omicron, but not as much as the updated (bivalent) boosters.

The virus that causes COVID-19 has changed over time. The different versions of the virus that have developed over time are called variants. Learn more about variants of the COVID-19 virus.

Two COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers, Pfizer and Moderna, have developed updated (bivalent) COVID-19 boosters.

The timing of your booster dose depends on which vaccine you received for your primary series. For complete details, see the COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shot Recommendations (CDC).

If you have further questions about whether you should get a COVID-19 booster shot and when, talk to your healthcare provider.

Everyone age 6 and older in Blanco County is eligibile to receive the Bivalent Moderna COVID-19 Booster.
